Through the Teaching & Learning Forum funded GeoLab Project, a collection of virtual thin sections has been collated by a consortium of Irish third level geoscience units and the Open University.

The collection consists of a suite of slides from the teaching and research collections in the universities in Cork, Galway and Dublin. The collection includes thin sections samples from all over the world.
